We’re just a week away from the leaving “invite only mode” of the most highly anticipated Braintrust AIR functionality: the AI Interviewer, which conducts the first round interview for you, and selects the top candidates to move forward - saving hundreds of wasted hours and hundreds of thousands of dollars.
We’ll be releasing this functionality to all existing customers at the beginning of August, enabling them to experience the massive efficiency gains for themselves, before enrolling them in the new SaaS subscription model.
The next big milestone will be training AIR to match for and interview for all roles (not just tech) which begins rolling out in late September. We are setting up pilots with a dozen very large customers in multiple sectors, allowing them to leverage AIR to recruit talent at scale; think: healthcare workers, call centers, large staffing firms, retailers, etc.
These partnership introductions have come from a variety of sources, including our investor community (thank you!) and our viral demo video. We’re also building an advisory panel of Enterprise CFOs who are extremely interested in the cost savings potential of using AIR, who are not only advocating to use Braintrust AIR at their own companies, but also making strategic introductions to other companies as well.
Business updates:
Sales: Summer months are notoriously challenging in the staffing business, and we’re not immune – yet – hence why we’re so excited about adding SaaS revenue via AIR to our mix. Our GSV came in 17% below the previous month, due to a variety of factors from lower average job size, to contracts expiring, etc. We closed 3 new enterprise logos in the month, and have a solid pipeline of 30+ more, which we expect to materialize in short order, in addition to all of the aforementioned work on Braintrust AIR.
Lead Sources: Our unique competitive advantage – the BTRST token – continues to be the #1 driver of new leads via our Connector program. We’re taking ~40 new connector meetings a month, and experimenting with how we can convert them faster.
Marketing: I did an Interview with a YouTube channel called Shark Numbers, and they also published a Review comparing Braintrust to Upwork, both are worth a watch/ listen. Braintrust was also mentioned in a tweet thread by Neal Taparia which racked up over 18M views; as always, I would encourage you to like and share these assets on social, as it really helps us with organic brand awareness. In the coming month, we’re turning on new campaigns + speaking at some events and continuing to drive awareness for AIR.
Talent: We’ve surpassed 1M talent; almost doubling our talent base in a 6 month timeframe. The work we’ve done to load up the talent side of the market during this hiring slowdown will pay great dividends when the hiring returns.
Product: Our product team has been working diligently to deliver Braintrust AIR, testing through the various integration points and hardening our LLM and voice interface handling to meet client demand and provide a superior talent experience. We have successfully moved all talent screening to AI screening, saving us hundreds of thousands of dollars yearly, and uncapping our screening ability - this ensures we can grow quality talent in the Braintrust network exponentially. Our next focus is on model training and platform upgrades to support recruiting for any role, as well as providing a Braintrust AI experience directly in customer ATSs meeting customers where they do their recruiting today.
BTRST: We launched Boost, enabling Braintrust talent to use BTRST tokens to move their application to the top of their match group. We are seeing promising results. One of our talents boosted their application on a job with CNN, and was hired 12 days later! In just the first few days of the feature being live, 59 people have organically used the feature. 48 of them had existing wallet balances, 11 purchased tokens to use the feature (via Coinbase Pay). We’re monitoring the results closely and have a set of GTM accelerants that leverage talent success stories as well as in product contextual prompts. We are preparing to launch the ability to get job insights next as another BTRST test that is close to talent’s top reason to join - getting a job in addition to a pipeline of tests to bring talent value in exchange for BTRST.
